Oh, sh*t. You're getting drafted? That sucks. I hope Isreal dosn't get in any serious conflicts in the next 3 years. Do you have to stay at a training facility for the intire 3 years, or do you get some leave?

It's not as dramatic as in the States. Being in the army doesn't automatically mean combat, though if you're in good physical shape you probably will have some combat training and a relatively combat position- relative to your physique and you will to serve in combat positions. You can either be stationed in a base, where you usually stay in the base 11 days and then get 3 days leave, or you leave home daily.

I'll be training to become a paramedic, so I'll probably be in a base, but I might get more leave :D .

Good morning, Vietnam! I need to see that, I love Robin Williams. I didn't sleep, but, suprisingly, I don't feel tierd.

thanks :D

though I must say, I have a huge distaste for the American Memorial Day. Not because of the soldier who died, of course, but because of gigantic sales that go on in Memorial Day, which are a rather interesting day to remember the troops...

It's particularly weird for me, because there's no sadder day in Israel than Memorial Day...

But yeah one's holiday is many times another's memorial day.

Couldn't agree more, though I think Free Bird is excellent too.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is the Kansas of Southern rock to me. Any of their first five, six albums are good.
Haven't listened to anything post airplane crash Lynyrd Skynyrd, except First, but all those albums are excellent IMO. Haven't heard much of Kansas, though, just Point of Know Return. Must check the rest of their albums out soon.

Edit: Oh, yeah, good afternoon, everybody!

aginor, have you heard The Hemulic Voluntary Band by Ritual?  It's about the moomins.  There's even a song called "The Groke."  The album is a masterpiece.

Hail people of Iceland
Journey of a land anew
Ram as our liaison
Vision inspire and move
Awe holy island
Breed the lagoon to run free
Raw beauty is ruthless within the golden ring
Precision of Grungir
Spear of the Norse God Odin
Praise our Pagan Father
Founder of the Althing

Ruler of sky's thunder
The honourable warrior
All divination
Beward the Hammer of Thor
Lava goddess
Ice and fire
Settling down
Ocean Geysir
Gullfoss
