maybe the new project involving RATM's guitarist, Tom Morello, the project called Street Sweeper Social Club, a fusion of rap and rock/metal. Their first album is available for £ 5 in HMVs in London. And it's really good if you like this kind of fusion.

Other than that, I am not really interested in the new prog bands, unless thay are REALLY original. I am digging ancient music, renaissance and baroque music, which I found very deep and fascinating (much more than prog).

New stuff as in new releases, or new stuff as in new purchases, including old albums? GeekTongue (I think I worded that correctly).

I really enjoy rocking to RATM but right after listening to Tom's other side project Audioslave I kind of lost the interest on his work. Perhaps I'll give Street Sweeper Social Club a try. Thanks for the heads-up

Greetings my friend!

As in new purchases I must say. And yeah, including old albums. Recently I borrowed a couple of Phideaux albums from a friend and I got quite impressed. Old or new band releases are welcome to listen to!

There is a new, dead cheap Soft Machine box out now called Original Album Classics. The five cd box contains Third, Fourth, Fifth, Six and Seven. It cost me £ 14, delivered to my door. That's $ 20. I got all albums as legal downloads some time ago, but I also wanted these albums as physical copies. In particular; Third.

The same series also include a lot of other prog rock artists like all five albums from Mahavishnu Orchestra and many others artists from ProgArchives. This is an inexpensive way to get some excellent albums.

The great thing is that the last 3 CD's on that list were promos in small cardboard packaging, and were only $1 at my record store! The rest was on clearance and in the 2-3 dollar range. Big smile

I can't wait to hear Mer De Noms myself... I've heard it's great.

Whoa, epic prices Love splurging on music at a good sale.

Yeah, Mer De Noms is amazing. Imagine Tool + The Smashing Pumpkins with a sprinkling of PoS... Really awesome group, and that album is amazing, really unique dark sound.

$28 here, still the price is right, I've wanted to check out Third for a while. How's the packaging?
