What do you like? Lots of Ulver isn't even metal. The only advice I can give as far as not black metal goes is don't listen to Nattens Madrigal.

I would try Peredition City, Shadows of the Sun and wars of the Roses

also Bergtatt, the debute is a facinating album and with Garms impressive vocal moments

I kinda liked some of what i heard on Nattens Madrigal, some nice folk interludes on the album that bridges and contrasts with the black metal stuff
