Judging by this thread, http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=74275&PID=3991501&title=pre89-music-is-dead#3991501 this guy has apparently had a recent run-in with one of our friendly neighborhood trolls.

Will you be able to see the lunar eclipse?

So I ended up being able to patch the tire, but the lugnut broke taking it off to put the spare on, and I had to pay $160 to replace that because they had to take the whole damn wheel apart.

My parents are watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid on Netflix in the other room, rather loud, it's really annoying and has a horrible soundtrack.

I am pretty sure the only thing I could see is clouds.

If I am still awake I might look outside to see if I see it, but hopefully I will be dreaming of sugar plums by then.

I have absolutely nothing interesting to say, read, or think about. Maybe I'll wander aimlessly in the streets for a few hours and hope something exciting happens to me.

Matt, do you know anything about Basic? If so, do you know of a way to implement mathematical operations with complex numbers without tearing my hair out?

I know a bit about Basic but I don't know how to do that, sorry.

Because doing basic math with Basic is a joy compared to Matlab, but it tells me to f**k off if I try to take the square root of a negative number and Matlab can handle that easily. Maybe the internet can help.

I think most languages die when you try to sqrt a negative number. xD

That is what complex numbers are for. Tongue

Well yeah, I just mean most languages don't have 'em. XD
Which, when you think about it, shouldn't be that hard. You could reduce the range of a value by 1 bit and have a flag for whether or not it should be multiplied by i, much like how there's a flag for negative. Since a lot of numbers are 32 or even 64 bit these days, should be lots of space after that.

Oh Henry.  What do you need to do, it can't be that bad in Matlab.
