Chris Karrer of Amon Düül 2 is colorblind. nevertheless he designed the cover for his album "The Mask" himself. it was actually not really a cover but a sculpture of his face, painrted by himself. only 500 of the album with that "cover" were released; the owners received a certificate with "their" number

A little while after the death of Triumvirat guitar player/singer Helmut Koellen, German prog band Birth Control wrote and recorded a song as a tribute to Koellen entitled "We All Thought We Knew You", which was included on their 1977 album "Increase"

Ian McDonald of King Crimson helped form in the late 70s the rock band foreigner.

Here's something real obscure. The rap group Cyne has sampled Pekka Pohjola and Renaissance.

Kanye West has sampled 21st Century Schizoid Man but that's not too obscure.

A section of music from the famous Focus album Moving Waves quotes directly from the music in the title track from Dutch Jazz-rock group Solution's record from 1971 called Divergence

Although it was not accompanied by a concert tour or hit single, Triumvirat's 1976 album "Old Loves Die Hard" did chart in America, reaching #85.
In the same year, the band were at one point Number One in Portugal, and in the top four most popular rock groups in Brazil

by the way, my last post for 2010-Happy New Year to you all!

I read that Bill MacCormick from Manzanera's 801 is now a civil servant. Also, rumor has it that Richard Sinclair installed custom bathrooms before a comeback tour in the early 2000s.

Eddie Jobson was born Etta Johnson to African-American parents.  The infant was raised as a female and began singing in the family church until taking over piano duties at the age of 14.

After "Dark Side Of The Moon", Pink Floyd started working on an album named "Household Objects", using any kind of house appliances instead of musical instruments. It didn't work out, although some tracks were recorded. "Welcome To The Machine" is inspired in one of those tracks.
