I did so bad this weekend in our football picks poll.   I would have been better off not making picks and being stuck with all of the underdogs.  6 underdogs won yesterday, and of the 3 underdogs that I picked, I lost 2 of them, and the other one is Miami over New England tonight.  I was 5 and 8 this weekend, and would have been 6 and 7 without making any picks. Ouch

Always go for the underdog!

I'm also taking Miami over the Pats.
Besides not liking the PatsLOL their D is a bit weak at the moment and the Phins are capable of playing good D.
IRL will be tough though

Our picks are straight up, so usually I take the favorites, but we are required to take 3 underdogs so that prevents everyone from just taking the favorites.

Not enough people expressed interest. No point in doing a 4 person league.

While the tv guys might be drooling all over the Ravens today, I'm not fooled.  They've played 2 out of the last 3 games against the Steelers without having to face Ben (actually facing a 3rd string QB each time,in fact), a situation in which they should logically dominate (if they are as good as they're said to be), and they won one in OT and one on a last minute TD.  I actually feel better about the Steelers chances this year after that game.

Well,a win is a win.I won't over-hype the Ravens this year, they are still a work in progress. We have been a conservative team.Run the ball and make plays on defense and special teams.I think it will take awhile to get into that pass happy mentality,if we ever will.

The reason our games are so close with you guys is that the Steelers have a stellar defense, just putting some points on the board against them is an accomplishment(as much as it pains me to say that).

If Ben could stay out of trouble you wouldn't have to depend on your bench.

Correction: If he would only get in bar fights or drunk drive, instead of be accused of having sex with women, we wouldn't have to depend on the bench (and the idiot mind of Bruce "the steaming duce" Arians).

Ah, that'll do it Pat LOL

Jody what's up with your Ravens? Flacco is still young and developing but he has skill IMO, plus a good O line, my boy Ray Rice, and now Boldin. I thought you guys would be an unstoppable offense.

Things going well against the Pats thus far.
Their defense is weak right now an the Phins have those long, smashmouth running drives to keep em off the field. Defense is decent.
Honestly, I really like the Phins...in general.

I actually don't know if the Steelers will play much better when Ben comes back.
I honestly think the defense was playing out of their minds to step up and while the Steelers D is always tough..they won't maintain that level. But the offense will be better with Ben so the Steelers will remain level.

Which is not a bad thing for them

They'll still win. You don't have to worry.

EDIT: Man, can't remember the last time I saw a fake spike outside of a HS game.

Well this isn't the Cowboys so there's no guarantee they'll (the Pats) will blow it LOL
But yeah if the Phins lose I'd be disappointed...they really are better right now both on defense and have a balanced offense.

White running back?
Was he on the Pats?

I know the Jets had this guy Danny Woodhead who was a receiver/runningback who was white and was recently picked up by the Pats.

I'm gunna guess that's who you sawLOL

I do think there's a bit of discrimination in football (and it must go back to the lower levels)
I think there is no doubt that there are plenty of white guys capable of playing running back.

I just think, from early on, the position is naturally discriminated against.
Anyone know Brian Leonard (I think hes now on the Browns?) was a running back from Rutgers. Ran a 4.5, was fairly athletic, and was a power runner.
Was drafted and used a fullback in the NFL...which I thought was a shame, not a true use of his skill.

I don't think teams discriminate like that. Why would they put their team in a worse position just to hold a white guy down? It doesn't make sense.

I just think black people on the whole make better RBs than white people. Just like white people make better kickers than black people on the whole.
