The Gazebo nearly fell off page 1 - I'm just posting this to bump it back up.

Anybody doing anything for the bank holiday? We're off to my sister's place in Yorkshire.

It's 1535.  Come and join Queen Anne Boleyn as she watches her husband, King Henry VIII, joust with her brother, George.

Have a good time,Chris.

I'm painting/staining/wood preserving etc. my new shed/beer store and fence. No beer until the jobs done...some hope.

I was waiting for my train this morning at about 05.45 and all of a sudden, about half a dozen Pete Doherty look-a-likes with camping gear arrived at the station.Hmmm. I wonder what they are upto I thought...and then though nothing of it.I boarded my train and as we pulled into Twickenham, there were about another 10 Pete Doherty look-a-likes on the platform.Curiouser and curiouser. It wasn't until I picked up a newspaper and was reminded that the Reading (and Leeds) Festival takes place this weekend. Memories came flooding back of when I attended Reading in 1980 and Thin Lizzy's no show. They were replaced by the MSG so,happy daze.

I'm off up norf tomorrow.  Staying at the George and Dragon in Dent where they brew a nice pint.  A couple of steam trips are running over the Settle and Carlisle line and I'm also going Tractor Pulling near Lancaster.  http://www.tractorpulling.co.uk/nwtpc/startaug09.htm

Taking our cheap 'n' nasty rigid inflatable boat out on the Bure. Bank Holiday traffic and I tend to avoid each other whenever possible - it's bad enough locally without even attempting to get out of Norfolk, trust me

Typical,bl**dy typical.

I've just finished putting woodfiller onto some hairline cracks in my fence in preparation for painting/staining/preserving tomorrow when all of a sudden we had some torrential rain and 'hurricane' strength winds.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

So, how many years have you lived in England then Lee? WinkLOL

Apparently the damage caused by the tail-end of 'urricane Bill...
... could run into double figures, may be even £20...
...never seen it this bad. Shocked

Had a splendid time, it was like going back in a time machine!  took a short film ...

here are a few snaps from the event...

1. Anne Boleyn.

2. King Henry in Armour.

3. Enter the mystery Knight.

4. Guards and Magyar guests.

5. Magyars fighting - the hammer the one on the right is wearing was very effective against a sword!

6. Royal group watching the action.

7. Henry receives his prize from Queen Anne!
