My guess is, about 70 altogether, but it'll be also interesting to see which ones - there might be some suprises. |

We have to look at it at album level, as we have some albums by the same artists, but different albums.

What I can tell is that I find your tastes sometimes less mainstream-influenced than mine, but mostly the other way around. It's also like, we have somehow different ambitions in that concern.

Admittedly, I wasn't a fan of Led Zeppelin at the time those albums were released, but the writing was on the wall that I'd have a Whole Lotta Love for them eventually.

I've loved Houses of the Holy since its release, but my fondness of the second album came much later and of the fourth not more than a couple of years ago. |

I tend to agree - my music collection is sorted alphabetically by band name, or surname of solo artists, then each artist's albums are sorted chronologically by original release date - a methodology which makes sense to me and has served me well over the past several decades. Breaking it all down into genres and sub genres would ultimately drive me round the twist.

But when you have over 3,200 CD's and they're in almost every room in the house on various bookshelves and CD racks it all makes Perfect Sense to sort them by genre as well as alphabetically. ![]() |

When my collection approached 1,000 CDs I started a policy of "one in, one out" and got myself a nice shelf that could only hold about that many CDs. But 15 years ago I also decided to rip all of them and listen only to files. Since then my CDs are hibernating at my mother's place in Germany. At one point I'll need to go through them and take them to Sweden, although I'll probably sell 90% of them in the process. Deciding which ones to keep will be difficult ...
