needless to say... yesterday was a bitch at work. All 4 of us were blurry man.. though I was winner with my 2am bedtime.

All 4 of us on my crew voted Hillary... and we spend most yesterday discussing it. First our shock... then the reality of it.  This country did survive 8 years of Bush.. though it needed 8 years of Obama to attempt clean up his domestic and foreign bungling. We'll survive him.. and we all had a very similar thought.  Everyone has been wrong about Trump.. his chances in the primaries.. the general election...  yet...

the reason none of us supported him.. even those that HATED Hillary.. was he gave NO indication that he was suited to be President.

many of us think that..  sure many of you all do... are we wrong about that to.  Remember he spent as much time fighting his own party as HIllary... if he is to be a real agent of change... he will have to fight both parties. Will he?  We shall see....

I take to heart that there were many comments regarding Trump that even though he was running as a Republican his positions were more Democrat or left than Hillary.  Certainly the most Conservative of the batch kept complaining that he "was not one of us".  I always kind of felt that he was just trolling the country.  My biggest problems with him were his racist and sexist comments and some of his gorilla chest beating comments.  I'm not sure how much these were his real views, and how much these were his persona's views.  He is an entertainer and to a certain extent I believe that he was playing a part.  To this day, I still don't believe that he had any intention of actually becoming president.  Mark Cuban had commented that Trump's plan was not to win but to get richer and create additional business opportunities i.e. Trump TV.  If this is true, then ha ha, the joke is on him.  With any luck, he will be the president of the people and it will be a good thing.

The problem is that his VP is serious and will have power.

Except we can change that in four years.  Britain not so much.

^  Trump is not an idiot...  he knows Pence is exactly the GOP establishment ..talking points..bullsh*t he did seem to have a serious problem with. I think he tucks him away and put a do not touch incase of a tie in the Senate sign on him.

I don't think we will hear much of anything of him in these 4 years.  The danger of course if Trump being impeached or f**king dying LOL

it won't take long I suspect to see just what he is....  he has a Supreme Court nominee to make... does he buck Repubicans and puts a Pro-choice nominee..  like...umm... perhaps the ONE innocent victim of our political mess.  Garland...  the opening salvo in his war on and to REMAKE the Republican Party (the target being.. of course it its establishment which.. well.. was not exactly supportive of him.. and the ones responsible for many of the damn problems OF this country he has said he wanted to fix LOL)

could be interesting days ahead... who will have the real power. Congress or him?

Again he could be a agent of chance.. it is starts with his own party... or he just ends up as yet another half witted bobblehead Republican President who should have never made it into the White House without a visitor sticker.  LOL

I don't mean to sound old fashion, but America is pretty much unique.  It did start slowly but no other country is built up so completely of non-native peoples.  It's a land of immigrants, who sadly partially displaced a population some are even saying displaced another native population, although I doubt that.  So, I don't believe your idea that democracy is on its way out.  The people here are way too independent.  I'm a moderate but "liberals" with their PC ways has been the most fascist thing America has ever seen.

VPs don't have any power, I thought people knew that.   Pence may have some influence, he may be given certain responsibilities, but the Veep is the most emasculated Federal position there is.

yeah..  in that Trump will be no Bush light....  Trump doesn't need to be led to the bathroom by his VP.

Of course Pence will have as much say in the Trump administration as ..say.. I will.  It was clearly obvious over the course of the campaign those two do not see eye to eye....nor a great deal of love to be lost...  Pence was desperate in taking the offer.. so was Trump since Joe the Plumber turned him down previously...

Oh and BTW; this stuff about Americans moving to Canada?   Those that do will be back so fast, the poutine will fly off the plates and into the snow.   It don't work that way.   Home is home is home, especially in the lower 48.   Ain't gonna happen in any significant numbers.   Sorry Friendly Neighbors to the North.

Pence knows the score and will follow Trump.  I'm not sure what you mean by "desperate," that makes no sense at all.  Pence is smart enough to know he wants to stay on the winning side as the neocons are driven out.

Cheney is a war criminal who will get what's coming to him or die before that.   And yeah, Trump is no Bush: Trump has a spine and doesn't appear to have a drinking problem.   Or a dad who was CIA director.   Or a atrophied brain.

great article today...  she was waiting in the wings to take over the party and take it left..  the wings just opened 8 years earlier than most everyone thought they would...
