I'll be buying that very, very soon. Big smile
I have it (received it from Altr0ck for reviewing), and so far only two thorough listening, it's quite good and enjoyable with some highlights, but I feel as if something's missing... But I need more listens.

Dang, how'd you get that gig? LOL AltRock is my favorite label these days, I've heard five records from them and the least impressive was Aranis' Roqueforte, which is a great album in its own right. The other ones are all five star albums or very close to it, and I try to hold back on the 5 stars as much as possible.

What a weird comparison, nothing at all alike.
They're awesome! I love the first the most so far (heard only 5 out of the 6), but all their stuff is good (with Skin being perhaps the lesser so, but still...).

This guy I used to see at prog shows around Philly. We would strike up conversations.

I know. I really have no idea what was wrong with him. It's a shame or I would have checked these guys out sooner. I need more from them.

Sup guys I need some assistance.

It's pretty clear to me from very limited exposure that Magma is easily a top 20 prog band, but their discography confuses me.

I have MDK and Emehnthett-Re[sic]. Where do I go next? What albums are too legit to quit.

What you need next is KA. Their best IMO.

I know I am a minority but for my KA is extremely over rated (for me it lacks intensity and "balls" )
All the 70's output till Atack is highly recommended
And The Mythes & Legends 4 part dvd retrospective is stunning

If you admit you're in minority how can it be overrated? In that case it's properly rated.

As for studio albums:
KA
Kobaia
Attahk
1001 degrees Centigrades
Kohntarkosz
Udu Wudu

In that order.

As for live albums:

Retrospektiw I-II
Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie
Live/Hhai

I'd put these ahead of all the studios save KA.

Kohntarkosz is one of my least favorite actually, at least the studio album.  Live versions, such as that on Live/Hhai, are excellent though.  As for Luke's list, I'd say get at least K.A., the debut, and possibly 1001 Centigrade before the live stuff.

I'm not a big live album guy, so that will probably be my mode of attack.

Just a quick shameless plug for those who've missed it elsewhere, I've launched a new blog dedicated to disseminating news, reviews, features, playlists, recommendations and so on, all relating to avant-garde, experimental and progressive music. I'm currently updating it at least 4 days a week so it's well worth keeping a close eye on!
