and apparently I was enamored LOL  will definitely have to acquire this, and this band should be added to PA now that they are with AltRock.

I just heard that on Avant Progressive list. How very sad indeed! We've lost an exceptional artist. A friend and I were just speaking yesterday of how much Trout Mask had influenced a lot of the RIO sound - it sounds like it... I will drink a toast to him tonight...

I finally got the album, very good!

Also, there's a new Satanique Samba Trio album!
Satanique Samba Trio - Bad Trip Simulator #2 RDM SST3

Satanique Samba Trio - Bad Trip Simulator #2

SKU RDM SST3
Third album by this wild Brazilian band who jump across multiple genres as if they were cracks in the sidewalk of Naked City. Pretty impressive. Note that this album is short, but there's enough going on in the music that you won't feel cheated!

"Bad Trip Simulator #2 is the third CD by the brazilian quintet Satanique Samba Trio. Their line up is made of guitar, cavaquinho (a small acoustic guitar, typical of samba), bass, drums and trumpet with additional instruments and some guests. Satanique Samba Trio comes back with their mix of brazilian music with metal, rock and avant-garde jazz, creating a surreal new music. I imagined them as the brazilian version of Naked City, having short compositions with a huge amount of styles, where all are put together with very high doses of energy."

Thanks for the heads up on Satanique Samba Trio - I'll be getting a copy of Sangrou asap, and I'm very impressed with the samples I've heard so far.

What the hell was that person talking about.

Really digging their s/t.

I was really stunned to hear it the first time (Scott Johnson that is); very impressive release.

I have it (received it from Altr0ck for reviewing), and so far only two thorough listening, it's quite good and enjoyable with some highlights, but I feel as if something's missing... But I need more listens.

Who told you that?
What a weird comparison, nothing at all alike.
They're awesome! I love the first the most so far (heard only 5 out of the 6), but all their stuff is good (with Skin being perhaps the lesser so, but still...).
