First listen, my second Zappa album (first was Hot Rats, which doesn't do much for me most of the times but in the rare moments I'm in the mood for it sounds genius). Enjoying it quite a bit so far.

There are two Jackies in my life, one is a total Jazz Legend ,not a bad sax player eitherHug but the other is Scottish and has is own brand of contempary folk music  and its like nobody else.  I have bought every album he has. He was a member of the punk band Doll By Doll before going solo, also records under different names because he usually puts out 2 albums a year. One is under his own name and is on the Cooking Vinyl Label and the other lately he has been releasing under the name Sir Vincent Lone. Anyway I love him and I will admit if I say" I am going to put on Jackie" , Everybody here knows its Jackie LevenHeartHug He has a newie called Gothic Road out in April, Pre listening not required for Jackie.........never heard a bad one yetCool

Thanks for the info, Matt. I would be curious to hear gothic-jazz, but I guess the "gothic" will stay in the album title only...LOL

Thanks for the dedication, Lucas, though I can't agree on your advice to avoid the album... Its first three tracks are among the strongest BOC ever recorded, at least in my very humble opinion.

Anyway, now:

Black Bonzo - Sound of the Apocalypse (dedicated to ScottSmile!)

I really did not like it. In fact I disliked it so much that I don't want to try it again, haha.

It's odd because 'fire of unknown origin' was an instant winner to me, while the dinosaur doesn't grab my attention at all, maybe the second track, but the rest is terribly uninspired.
