So where did the whole 'red shoes' thing come from then?
Or Granny Weatherwax's red boots, for that matter...?

You'll be telling me next that Diana Ross wasn't in the original film, or that if you watch 'The Wiz' at the same time as listening to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' (beginning the album as the MGM lion roars - this is very important), you realise they were both crap!

Hi Shed dwellers! I'm home! How much fun was that? Good to meet LimeyRob on Saturday & Fanny and Sleeper on Sunday Special thanks to LimeyRob for the beetroot chutney, and Fanny for the beetroot crisps, Nathalie (on our merch desk) was more than a little bewildered by beetroot items being left at the desk for me each night! The crisps got eaten on the tour bus after the show and thoroughly enjoyed by all, and the chutney is being saved for our day-off picnic tomorrow! Thanks guys! We're all looking forward to the weekend now!

I thought it was Nanny Ogg who had the red boots.

Can beetroot be made into an extremely potent alcoholic beverage?
That's what I feel like at the moment...

^ High sugar content... vodka can be made from beets, so no reason why not... the don't think colour would survive the distillation, but you could always put that back afterwards...
....I'm not helping am I

While I was away in Scotland I tried some beetroot chocolate cake and it was actually OK. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I was pleasantly surprised by it.

but doesn't sound particularily palatable. I've had chocolate cake made with mayonnaise.

I've had magic mushrooms nicely sauteed on toast with HP sauce. Many many eons ago. Funny it seems like such a sensible thing to do now too....so much for progress!
