Awesome. How'd you manage that?

My record store is REALLY overpriced if you buy new stuff... but the used section is insanely cheap. I can get CD's for $1.99, and it happens all the time.

8 of the CD's were in the clearance metal section, and the other 2 were only $6.99! I am quite the bargain shopper! Big smile

Seriously now, do tell me what you think of both, Head Hunters and Birds of Fire. I have a feeling that you'll like more the latter, anyway I admire that you want to broaden your musical horizon from death metal to complete funk jazz.Clap

Haven't heard Birds of Fire yet, but I love Head Hunters. The first song especially blew me away! Clap

I'm definitely going to do some more investigation into the jazz/rock fusion genre in the near future. I still want to get some Billy Cobham stuff, but my record store didn't have any albums that I recognized.

And yes, I've been very interested in all types of genres lately. Not too many people would buy Napalm Death and Cannibal Corpse along with Mahavishnu Orchestra and Herbie Hancock in the same trip! LOL

Listened to Birds of Fire earlier today... awesome album! The drumming from Billy Cobham is especially brilliant. Clap

^Thumbs Up Indeed, Billy Cobham, Jan Hammer and John are amazing in that album. My favorite track is Miles Beyond, love the semi-funk feel with the heavy catchy bits.

My favorite from the first listen is probably One Word, though they're all pretty great. I had a remarkably positive first listen. Big smile

I bought recently music by Vivaldi, Buddy Holly, Cypress Hill, Carcass, Cradle Of Filth, Neil Young, The Radio Dept (dream-pop), Grant Lee Buffalo, Vangelis, Pere Ubu, Lucinda Williams, Sixun (jazz-rock), Salif Keita, Sepultura.

I don't understand people who listen to only one kind of music.

I don't understand people who listen to one type of music, either. I tend to mostly listen to progressive rock & prog metal, but I always welcome metal, jazz, classic rock, classical, pop, and even some country into my listening habits.

Stormwatch - Jethro Tull

Stopped buying Tull albums after 1977 so I'm curious to see if I'm missing anything.
