It was reportedly done because he's been getting death threats. Lots of them. They want him out of the way until things cool off. If they fired him now, they'd just look like even bigger dicks than they did previously.

Yeah but this is still utter bullsh*t and here's why:
Joe Paterno did what was legally required but failed to do more, when he should have. This is what the case against him is and I agree. However, I have had people, rather passionately, tell me McQueary is A OK. HOW!?!?! "He did what he was supposed to. He told his boss"
SO DID PATERNO!
Yeah, but he's a small fry, JoePA is the big guy. But what does that matter? This is about doing what is right. McQueary knows even more than JoePA (or anyone really) and did only what was legally required....yet no one seems to care. It's all about Joe and I think that shows bias.
And he shouldn't be fired for the death threats, how about because he did not report the terrible thing he saw to the police???? This is becoming bullsh*t. And like that article showed, they fire Paterno but vocally and financially support the 2 who are in much bigger trouble? Seems to me like "JoePa needs to go and is no real threat, but those 2....they know how deep the sh*t is so we needa protect them"
And IMO what they probably know is that the Board of Trustees knew about the cover up. They would not want that to come out now would they?
If you mean the scandal...we all know athletes are trained to block out distractions and in fact use football as the escape. Dont think it was too big an issue but Nebraska is damn good.

Boy.....ARK whooped up on Tenn.......That LSU-ARK game is looking scary for my Tigers, sooo glad its in Death Valley, Should be much better than the LSU-ALA game for sure.
Rich-Rod is going to Arizona. The man who made West Virginia good and even flirted with championship game level, was a huge bust in Michigan (though admittedly he never seemed very welcomed) let's see if he can set up that spread option successfully at Arizona.
None of those players (except maybe linemen) will ever be NFL quality but with WVU, and later on Oregon, Florida, and Appalachian State...we can see it's potency at the college level

Just for an update: nah, still around. And changing his story to boot. He's totally not protecting his ass or anything. I'm still proud of my accomplishment, and the school itself as an educational entity and it's culture....but god, the people running it all deserve to rot for this Kind of glad it's faded from the news but now it's sealed as "JoePa's Scandal" and not McQueary, the school police, AD, President, the board of trustees (like they had no idea...) or even Sandusky, his name is a passing mention.
le sigh
The on field whalloping was poor as well. Wisconsin is far better and few of us honestly expected victory but that was brutal! Maybe if they stuck with one QB (especially the one who could pass....) our offense wouldn't suck so bad.
Hate to bring this up again, but the world is a sh*t sandwich
Apparently ESPN, who made JoePa out to be the greatest villain of our time, had proof this Fine from Syracuse molested people. They held onto it for 8 years. Apparently they didn't see it as their place to go to the police. Also that they didn't actually see anything. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM THAT sounds very, very familiar.

Started off exiting but LSU trumps Georgia by the end of it.
The Big Ten game has been epic! Lovin it, especially that there are still some old school Big Ten teams. With smaller ones using the spread for a while and even Ohio State, Michigan and my PSU becoming spread and finessey in recent years, glad there are some nice smashmouth, traditional teams. Especially with Wisconsin, so many multi TE sets and Monte Ball has over 1700 yards and 31 TDs at the moment. Brings tears of joy to my eyes
And hey, after what I (and others more quietly) thought would be a 500ish year, I can't complain about our 9-3 record, especially with wins over Iowa and Ohio State. Good year Lions.

The BCS needs to be banned from NCAAF for life, with no chance for re-entry. What a complete pc of trash........OSU should be playing in the NCG, they deserve it. They won their conference and that should trump any top 3 school that did not win their conference.
Alabama did not win their conference let alone their division........I don't care about their offense or defense...They did not do enough to have the right to play in the NCG.
So you mean to tell me if they beat LSU they are the national champions???!!! Really!!! I hardly think so........If this scenario plays out, there will be a bounty issued for all the heads at the BCS........rightly so.
What a joke.........And Boise gets punked again, no BCS bowl game...they play Arizona I think a 6-6 team.........holy smokes.
Boring. The first matchup between LSU and Alabama was 9-6. Boring. Oklahoma State would be the better more interesting game. Oklahoma State, who for years have lived in the shadow of Texas and Oklahoma has a breakout year and they should have been rewarded for it. My opinion, that's all.

Oh! And instead of cutting the middle man and going right to 16 team super conferences (I know people would hate it) they will make things slow, awkward and painful. San Diego State and Boise St are going to the big east???

I feel so bad for that poor Ms. Teen America contestant who couldn't find the USA on the map (or whatever it was that became the big joke). Try explaining to her that Boise and San Diego are on the East Coast.
