I think Rob needs to try UZ's "Ceux du dehors" too.  It's not as loose as the debut or Hérésie for that matter.  I think he'll enjoy it the most out of all the UZ albums I've heard so far.

Wikipedia tells me that Masada String Trio performs on the first disc of The Circle Maker, 50th Birthday Celebration Vol 1, Book of Angels Vol 2, and Filmworks XI. I can tell you that 50th Birthday Celebration was written a long time before the Book of Angels, but I have no idea what that means in terms of quality. Ihadn't heard that one before, though, that's great.

I have Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass but it's by The Cracow Klezmer Group (but playing Zorn pieces).

WTF? Huun Huur Tu made an electronic album? It actually sounds pretty good--so now I can have another 2009 album for my hypothetical 2009 list. ;-)--but I'm still baffled. Then again, Tim Hodgekinson saw a connection between electronic and shamanic music in K-Space, so maybe it's not so strange after all.

And if you listen to a second of that and scream WORLDBEAT!, let me assure you that Huun Huur Tu are authentic Tuvan musicians, or at least as authentic as a Tuvan musician that someone in the US can buy on CD, so it's legit, if an odd artistic choice.

Wow, I really didn't need to play that much Halo. Fun though. (not the game itself, just the person I played against)

Oh! What a weird time signature, that sure does get me all worked up!

I can totally imagine never having that conversation.

Same here.  One girl saw me wearing my Hot Rats shirt and said about how she thinks Frank Zappa's music is just a ton of noise.  I didn't say anything because I didn't want to scare her off. LOL
