I'm off to sunny (?) Yorkshire tomorrow morning for a 5 day hiking trip. See you all next Thursday. Save me a Hob Nob or two (preferably without the fluff).
And don't forget to feed my goldfish.

Just one last thing. We saw Mr Clapton at the RAH in 1991 and the tickets were £13.50. They were probably the cheapest as we were up in sherpa territory.
Adjusting for inflation, this would now be £21.06 today.
so a bit less than £260 then!!! I think I'll give it a miss.

Good God, no naturism thanks. Far too cold and there'll be loads of Scouts around, I'd be arrested.

Outdoorsness is a new word, but it is one. Already gives 8 hits in Google Wink

Last Monday evening i drove through the rain to meet my brother for dinner at Heathrow before his latest 3 week trip to Florida, but on the latest exchange rates how many others will be holidaying in the USA or travelling to New York for their annual Christmas spending spree?    the current exchange rate at £1.00 = $1.50 makes it hardly worth it, and the cheap USA holiday will be a thing of the past, and buying "bargains" from there on ebay uneconomic - will a holiday in UK  even seem more attractive for American tourists next year at this rate..? Confused

If 'Outdoorsness' is not a word, it damned well should be

Hang on, it's a bit chilly in here today - the stove's gone out, the kettle's cold & there's ice on the top of the goldfish bowl (that brass monkey doesn't look too happy either).

Good heavens - the shed's been empty all weekend - looks like it's not only Alan who's taken his leave for a few days; Vicky and I were away at my mother's (there to be over-fed & drowned in gallons of tea as per usual - bless 'er), but managed to get back in time yesterday for a couple of pints at The Mutual - incidentally, this was a couple of pints of Morrissey Fox Blonde Ale; brewed by Neil Morrissey & Richard Fox, whose attempts at brewing from scratch and a state of complete brewing ignorance is told on Channel 4's 'Risky Business' this week.

This correspondent can assure all, the beer itself is fab; great first effort chaps
