After the the abyssmal technical problems last week which probably I was the
only listener (humble apologies - unlike Ricky Gervais), we try again and with
the show expanded, for this week only, to 3 hours!!! Christmas catch up wrt
newish releases (including sampling the Tim Smith tribute), Meridian Voice (as
recommended by Fusenet), Everything Everything (as recommended by Sid Smith),
memories of Michael Brecker (on a new Don Grolnick reissue), dipping into my
favourite new Cuneiform release by the Polish band Uz Jsme Doma, plus the new
weekly features: Captain Beefheart tribute and the prog cover spots.

I was surprised at first listen but it has grown most strongly over the last few weeks - Robert Wyatt's socialist jazz goes back many decades but can't remember anything quite like this

Uz Jesme Doma are usually tagged as RIO (Rock In Opposition) band,or taking widely - avant rock. They had US tour this fall (I have friend who saw them live there). In Central Europe they have status of one of leading RIO band
