^^ absolutely no-one is worth that kind of money...
next week, I'm off to see Panic Room perform a 2 hour set in a bar in Worcester...for £8
personally, I'd much rather spend my time supporting reasonably priced grass roots music and artists..

It's good to see that he has taken the current economic climate into consideration. 'God' knows what the prices would be otherwise. He's probably a supporter of John Maynard Keynes.Spend in a recession,be spendthrift when markets are positive. Edited by Man Erg - October 24 2008 at 08:07 |

The galling thing is, it will sell out... over the hill he may be, but still a formidable musician on the right night, but what will he get when he plays (apart from a bloody great fat cheque )? A hall full of rich businessmen & their clients paying absolutely no notice to the music & only waking up when he plays Layla which even he has admitted he cannot stand playing anymore but the audience demand that he does so he tries to change it live but this never works & he has to keep the opening riff da da da da da da daaaa DA DA DA DA duuurr and he carries on lumbering through this old chestnut again knowing that as soon as the piano solo comes in the middle everybody loses interest (let's face it we lost interest at that point even in 1970) & wanders off to the bar or more likely on this particular show to the corporate entertainment suites which will fill the venue in place of any merchandise stalls (even if they were there a tee shirt would probably cost in excess of £100 & a sweatshirt would be the equivalent of Europe's GDP but thinking about it this is probably in negative figures now but thats another rant for another day so therefore a bad comparison anyway where was I? Oh yes...) and only returning to their seats when he announces on stage the obligatory special guest which is usually Phil Collins who will sit at the drums & play in the air tonight AGAIN to huge applause from the massed ranks of corpulent business people who think Clapton's playing an ironic version of a chocolate advert.
I definitely need that lie down now... or at the very least directions to the Ranting Room (sorry, it just feels so fitting to rant in the shed...) |

^^I wouldn't worry, Jim...I had a rant about stationery supplies in the Shed the other day...highly therapeutic it was too... but because it was in the Shed, most people just ignored me... I completely agree with you however...there is NO human being on this planet I would be prepared to part with £600 to spend the evening with... unless it was my father on his death bed... |

Oh hell, I hope I don't turn into my Dad! I'm not ready for chest hair!!!! On the scary side, I sometimes find myself talking to the kids and inwardly cringing as I can hear my Mum speak......... or I walk past a mirror and see my Nanna I said to someone this morning about when we were 20yrs old 50+ Seemed ANCIENT, now it seems young! We've got to face it chaps, we're turning into "old people" |

It was the realisation that I am no longer a chick that inspired the name change! Yes I am still Rachel, but most people call me Wilcey, so that's the name I've changed to!
And where were you last week when I was getting "hit'n'run" on my poor scooter? |

^ Ahhh -- that explains it.
No change of gender, then....
Hit & run??!!! I'm sorry to hear that!
I think all of my nice Brit friends in here should move to a certain overseas location with much less traffic density (with the emphasis on the dense, for that fleeing driver).
I take it you're okay? How's the poor wee scoot?
As for my whereabouts, likely I was zooming around through the majestic north woods on Big Blue, getting in as many rides as possible before the snow & ice descends.
Go global warming!!!

Anyway Wilcey, that's what comes of you lot insisting upon driving around on the wrong side of the road all of the time!
Get over!
