Good morning.  You guys have been busy in here.  43 pages since I last posted on Friday.   And yet still Rush bashing. Angry  Well, at least we know that if the U.S. Army ever invades the U.K. and needs to get James out of his basement the most effect way would be to blast Rush at full volume.  Won't be much of a stand-off though as James will probably come stumbling out with his hands up before the first chorus.

James is the main cause of any Rush bashing in here; then I just bash VDGG in response. It works out. Tongue

That sounds like it would be the coolest way to get James out of his house. LOL

How have you been, Scott?

I can tolerate Rush easily.  It doesn't hurt my ears in the slightest. Big%20smile  It'd just gloss over me and I'd wonder what that uninteresting background music is. LOL

They'd have to use some sort of pop music then instead. LOL

Finally! Clap

Godbluff is probably my least listened to album, strangely and I love The Sleepwalkers. Big%20smile

I think it's 'cause I've yet to fully digest the lyrics to Scorched Earth and The Undercover Man, which are tracks that the lyrical content seems to go over my head on... I've heard them a lot though.

I think Scorched Earth might have been my favorite track, they were all excellent though.

Good pick. Thumbs%20Up

When I next listen to Godbluff (or Real Time) again, I'll have the lyrics in front of me and follow them. Big%20smile

Still Life though just hits home... it's an album I can take the lyrics in fully with... except maybe La Rossa.

Oh, by the way, are we still thinking of a better name than Suede Room? I discussed that with David last night.

LOL

If Suede Room #2 ever dies off, then I vote it be recreated and rechristianed (uhh...I mean re-RIOdized) the RIO roomClap

Well, the deal was... NaturalScience (Pat) and the rest of us were trying to figure out for PAGES what the new name of the Suede Room was going to be since we weren't the most satisfied with it. No one could agree on anything, so we abandoned the idea after way too long of an argument.

The odd thing is---In a joking fashion but also in entire seriousness, at least that name would be way better than the Suede Room, IMO.

I know; I just wanted to start trouble. LOL

Plus, I am listening to UZ right now so it has some relevance. Wink

Vote Suede > RIO. Don't, to be honest, like the idea of naming the place after a genre that a lot of the off-topic people may or may not care about. Suede is lovely.

I'd say Sleepwalkers myself.

I definitely see your point. Wink

I just thought I'd bring up the topic again anyway (whether we use what I said or not), because I want a different name. Tongue

+1. We're the ones making it what it is, not the name.

WHAT A CRAWL AGAINST THE SLOPE
DARK LOOM THE SHADOWS
ONE TOUCH TO THE... CHAPEL DOOR
HOW SWIFTLY COMES THE ARROW

SO much tension. Brilliance. But, yeah, all of them brilliant.

I've been good.  It was a nice weekend.  I spent it playing "cool" uncle to my 4-year old nephew.  I took him to the Detroit Tigers' game on Friday (they were killed but that's besides the point).  He's not much in to baseball, but he likes going for the hot dogs and peanuts and the carousel and just being outside.  After the game they shot off fireworks.  It was the first time that he had seen them and he really enjoyed it so that was pretty cool.  He stayed the night at my house and I took him to the park and McDonalds for the playset and we watched a ton of kid's shows that I would hardly ever knew existed if I didn't have a nephew.

As far as responding with a VDGG bash in response, VDGG hasn't registered enough with me for me to be able to bash them.  I didn't like them the first few times I tried listening to them.  It is kind of funny because I started listening to Discipline and Matthew Parmenter and I really like them and him, and they are mostly considered to be a VDGG clone.  Once I started liking them however, I have been able to tolerate VDGG a bit more.  I recently purchased the Aerosol Grey Machine and liked it on first listen.  Granted I still don't really get what people see in H to He and Pawn Hearts as neither of them has grown on me yet.

Sorry.  I think that I exceed the allowed words per post limit for the SR.

In about 100 pages or so we'll need to make a new room - right now the policy is, whoever creates the new thread gets to name it.

I'm guessing that solo Phil Collins would do the trick.  Most likely starting with the Tarzan soundtrack.

Discipline the band?

I've not listened to them for ages... they have a slight cheesiness factor to my ears now.  Still good though.
