two proggy birthdays today, one being the drummer for the very progressive (as opposed to proggy) band from the 90's and the other an inventor of a couple of instruments that are VERY synonymous with the world of prog as we know it...

Happy birthday to the French pianist Jacques Louisser who's faithful piano trio rearrangements of J.S. Bach deserve a place in anyone's music collection alongside The Nice and ELP. I don't recall Jacques ever stabbing his piano with a knife though.
If more prog credentials are needed, then apparently in 1979 Pink Floyd recorded parts of The Wall at Jacques's studio Miraval in the South of France...  |
