It's an acquired taste for sure. Takes a bit of time to grow on ya. I will admit, but not a horrible album. That's pushing it. Don't make Vangelis cry. Lol

Funny, 666 is one of my favorite albums Vangelis ever played on.

Plus, "The Single Factor" tour was my first concert, at age 13, in Guldbamsen's back yard.  I have a signed copy of the "On the Road 1982" Camel live release, with Andy and Colin's personalized signature, reminding me of that wonderful night.  Cry

I could have done without Chris Rainbow though, he sucks.

You're in complete and utter denial. I know somebody I work with that says there are discernible musical movements hidden within it. I think he's full o' sh*t. I HAVE listened to all of it...twice. I always want to put it on for my friends and crack a big smile, though. "Hey guys, this is a new heavy metal album! It rocks!" And then I'd blare it as loudly as possible. Kinda like farting in their faces. Made me giggle.

From my personal album collection I'd have to say:

Metallica - St. Anger
Savatage - Fight For The Rock
Symphony X - s/t

I was a huge Metallica fan in the '80s-early '90s, they started to lose me with Load, lost me completely with St. Anger.

As far as Savatage goes, yeah their early stuff is kinda rough, with a couple of decent/good songs thrown in (like Sirens, Dungeons Are Calling, etc.) but 'Fight For The Rock' is just plain bad. They made up for it on their next album though, the excellent 'Hall Of The Mountain King'.

Symphony X is one of my favorite groups, but their s/t debut album is horrible. The singer on that album blows goats, the songs aren't very good, and the production is crap. To be fair to Romeo & co. I remember reading an interview on it where they said they treated it more as a demo, recorded it quickly to send to the record company to show them what they were capable of.

I don't think there are musical movements, but there are definitely some melodies created by the interplay between the feedback that I find quite lovely.

<p ="Msonormal">This has opened a real can of worms; what it illustrates is
that people find it impossible to make a distinction between good and bad and
what they simply do or don’t like. Criticism should be above and beyond
personal taste. Music you hate isn’t necessarily terrible; music you love isn’t
a guarantee of wonderful art. But then again, most so-called professional
critics act much the same way as punters, so perhaps none of us can really rise
above our prejudices.

I have to commend you for this, as I can barely get through a single song without turning it off. I have no idea what it is that people see in Tool. And I don't think I have listened to any albums that I like 100 times.

I'm sorry, but I hate the Eagles. They are my least favorite band.
