Some exciting news on the new album.Titled A Spark In The Aether will be released early 2015! However before that The Andy Tillison Multiplex will be releasing an album this autumn called Electric Simfonia No.2.Apparently it's very jazz rock, and based on Tillison's love of Chick Corea! Both should be interesting listens.

I bought Le Sacre du Travail yesterday, my first Tangent album. And I love it! With so many prog concept albums about fantasy subjects, it's kinda cool to have one about something the vast majority of us experience every day. To me, Andy Tillison's vocals sound at times like Karn-Evil-9-era Greg Lake Or at least the same sort of inflections and whatnot.
I had to laugh at the narration in the Overture. When something so mundane and normal is told in that way, it shines a different light on it.
Also, some of the sections make the album distinctly British. Particularly the "Steve Wright in the Afternoon" section of Afternoon Malaise. Again, something that's such a part of our lives that we don't even think about it. That's what makes it a wonderful album! We can relate to it.

Not As Good As The Book is somewhat like Le Sacre Du Travail in its story telling. I can quite relate to A Crisis In Mid Life, and The Ethernet, as well as (The Future Was) Not As Good As The Book.

NAGATB is my least favorite Tangent album. I'll still get their most recent, but now I'm not as excited.
Weren't they also going to release another album last year or am I confused?

I'm listening to the Le Sacre Du Travail (The Rite Of Work) for the first time, and I must say, this album has a different feel to the rest of the band's catalog, though still retaining somewhat familiar Tangent elements. The line up on this album really comes off as a strong unit. I liked the COMM band a lot, but the LSDT band is fantastic as well.
