The guy has an average of 1 goal each two matches with Benfica, so he could have given a bit of oxygene to the attack.

Perhaps the hot weather was a bit too much for the players, well next Friday Holland plays against Ivory Coast at 1800, then we will see what Holland is worth.

Messi is still recovering from the injury he sustained against Chelsea? Dont underestimate the team you played against they are a dangerous outfit and for your first match it was a fine result. The game with Holland will be unmissable!

18 goals per year, not so impressive in my books for the Portuguese league especially, but still... Then again it was probably a defensive strategy.

Tevez is amazing, but he is not one of those players I'd put out. I prefer the partnership of Saviola and Crespo.

Well Argentina of course...they already started good, beating (uhh Im such an ignorant, I dont know the countrys name Argentina played against yesterday in english) Costa de Marfil (thats in spanish) 2-1. And I do have some hopes that they will make it...but if they dont, I would like to see Netherlands as the winner...they deserve it, always a great team...never a winner...STILL WE WILL KICK YOUR ASS!!! I hope...

The forthcoming days we will see how strong Italy, Brasil and France are and how they will deal with the heath and the expextations.
Now Robben is the star, hopefully Van Persie and Van Nistelrooij will join his amazing level! I remain concerned about our defence, almost every attack of Serbia was dangerous but Johan Cruijff (a very good friend of Van Basten) said the defence did well ... ![Confused](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif) ... did he see another match .. ![Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif) ..
By the way, about the cramp of Van Der Sar, it is told that he probably drank too little water so the muscles reacted.

I just arrived at home from my work, it was 1-0 to Japan but after the mistake by the Japanese keeper the Aussies fought back to a 3-1 win, thanks to super subs Cahill and Aloisi, what an excitement, again during the games from small nations ![Thumbs Up](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif) !

Australia have a very good chance of reaching the 2nd round I think, but they have to beat Croatia. Probably their self-confidence is very high now.

This seems to be the Injury World Cup!!! Too many injuries previous to the tournament and too many injuries within the first matches of the tournament!!
