^ in lieu of a direct answer, I direct you to "Does Humor Belong in Music?" by Frank Zappa. |

Stand back, folks! In view of his avowed hatred of trick-or-treating kiddywinks, and recent seeming abhorrence of whimsy, I fear that the drugs that used to make Oliver stoned now just render him paranoid and irritable. Time to clean out the ol' bloodstream for a month or two, eh wot? Discuss: When one is always stoned, is one truly "stoned" anymore? |

I enjoy the direct bible quote: "that kicketh the arseth" from Revelations on the coming of the apocalypse. This little known verse is said to be responsible for the Crusades and inspirational to a generation of grade school students by their heavy handed parents. MORSE, NEAL - One Praise the Lord , twenty minute tracks, hammond solos, dynamic drumming.Speak his name with reverence... Neal Morse.Oh hail the great one and play this thing loud because it doth conquer all evil and lead us into the promise land of prog rock that kicketh the arseth out of most modern prog.Oh hail the one ....Neal Morse.Lets hear it one more time...

The worst thing about my statement is I can actually picture the old sod grimacing in front of the computer asking "why isn't he is considered relevant...after all...how many hits did any of these prog bands have?" seriously though., I am surprised this one slipped by. I think I would have rather read Arena is very,very,very,very........ect......good than some rude knock on everyone who attends these sites... but then again it suits my tasteless sense of humour as well |

GENESIS - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Review by Weasel @ 5:02:20 PM EST, 11/24/2004 Well, at the risk of inciting a riot among Genesis purists(I consider myself one of them), I consider this album one of the band's weaker moments. I am by no means an expert on Genesis trivia, but to me this sounds like Peter Gabriel's aural masturbatory fantasy put to vinyl. Perhaps if I had experienced the show live, I would feel differently, but it just isn't classical Genesis to me. Steve hackett's influence seems to be missing, and I am a big fan of his. He and Tony Banks have always been what made this band special(even tho' I liked some albums after Steve left-TTWT and Duke). This album sounds disjointed to me. Maybe I am wrong, but I know what I like!

Yes, I noticed özalan's review too. Firstly, I take my hat off to his attempt at writing in English. Secondly, I assume he is using "gay" in the original sense of the word. And, thirdly, his review is proof positive that "We Can't Dance" is not Progressive Rock (I had to chuckle at özalan's assessment of "Selling England By The Pound"). At the end of the day it's all music: one man's meat is another man's poison, and if he likes "We Can't Dance" then good for him.

^ I can't bring myself to make fun of that post because it was obviously composed in another language and then poorly translated |

STYX Greatest Hits
Review by aqualung28 @ 4:47:53 PM EST, 12/22/2004 Please, for the sake of your sanity, don't buy This! This is the worst Best Of from any band. If I could rate it any lower, I would. This album contains all the below mediocre hits from the biggest disgrace to prog ever (no offense to Styx fans, if Styx fans still exist). This album has everything from the dreadful "Lady" to the downright poorly written, lyrically retarded piece of musical crap we all know as "Mr. Roboto". What else can I say? This album is perfectly representative of the Styx sound. Unless you are a sadist/masochist/suicidal person, don't get this!
I wish people wouldn't mince their words.

I am amazed this one was accepted... RUSH Feedback (EP) Dees album being faut the makers of lists only. The sounds usually created by instrumentation is of mean worth. An unanointed user of the organ of hearing will not like much this opus.It is not like the Cream or Yardbirds in similarity only.I can the two points of the light give it.

Unlike Ozalan's review of We Can't Dance, Rooibos' review of Feedback was clearly written in another language and then translated by a translation software. This is a perfect example of why such software should not be used for something like a review, which requires much clearer language. Peace. |

Here is another strange one. Ignore the language problem. RUSH - Caress of Steel The fost-famous musissions of our time startet as an havy-metal-combo. The first Album was straight, and the followings should take sign n it: "We're still in training... The developed them over the decades, but now, afrt the Peart-tragoedy, they stopped beeing progreesive, are going BACKwards(instaid of forewards), and that will ring on the last round! Another Albums like Signals/Grace under Pressure ... Power Windows! ... Presto/Roll the Bones are awaited to be released! Wich idiot's idie was that, not to play synthesizers anymore??
