Thanks David. It's nice to be back. Coming soon, I'll have my CD catalogue of prog albums beginning with the letter "C", which will of course include plenty of albums by Camel and Caravan - two of my favourite bands. Thumbs Up

Purely by coincidence, the title of the Simple Minds album in my latest poll for 1982 is "New Gold Dream (81,82,83,84)." Smile

1977: Camel - Rain Dances
1971: Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink

Here we meet again, and that makes it 7 albums altogether so far. Smile

I'm guessing the biggest surprise in that list will be Holger Czukay - especially from Lewian's point of view. Wink

I don't know about that, but it made me (first now) discover where Lewian's avatar comes from.

I've been a fan of Camel ever since buying the Moonmadness album way back in 1976, but Caravan were trailing way behind, as I didn't "discover" them until after 2010, when I first went online. Embarrassed

Actually, quite similarily in my case, as I've been very fond of The Snow Goose since it release, but first discovered and began to love In the Land of Grey and Pink 2004.

The only Caravan album I was even remotely aware of before 2010 was Cunning Stunts, mainly because of the stunning album cover and also the cunning Spoonerism. Smile

^ It's good to see we both like the same two mainstream prog bands. I'd always pictured your CD collection being filled with edgy Avant Prog and offbeat Jazzcore music. Wink

Actually, I guess we're talking about the history of these two bands, as Camel was more popular in the '70s while Caravan gained in popularity in the post-'70s.

I quick check of my database determines that about 40% of my collection is Avant, Zeuhl & Experimental Jazz, that's about 1,000 albums. I have around 100 Canterbury albums.

I have a grand total of 13 Canterbury Scene CD albums (9 by Caravan and 4 by Steve Hillage), so I'm trailing way behind your impressive collection. Embarrassed

The first two Doors albums are our only D-overlap, Paul, even I also have some albums with Miles Davis (4), DCD (1) and Deep Purple (4).

I wouldn't be surprised if every prog fan has at least one Miles Davis album in their music collection. Smile

As for The Doors, that's a matter of perception. Wink

Interesting to see you have so many Dream Theater albums. I didn't know you could be so fond of Prog Metal.
