Well if he's in the archives he must be prog related. What I've heard sounds like straight jazz. I'm don't think he sounds prog related from what I've heard. Ronnie foster is a lot closer to prog though

The site maintains specific definitions of different genres within and related to Prog. Miles is an unusual case, because his later work is clearly J/R Fusion, but his earlier work is not. Since the site has a complete catalog policy, we end up with the oddity of some music that is clearly not Prog, like Kind of Blue and the early Beatles albums. No Prog there, but still good music. This may be blasphemous to some, but let's be honest: not all good music is Prog, nor is all Prog good music.

It is not blasphemy at all. I also appreciate a bit of honesty, and, you are right, not all good music is prog, and neither is all prog good music, either.

However, this is, unless I am mistaken, a progressive rock music archival site, not a jazzy twiddling knobs site, not a porngraphic electronic site. Nor a throbbing gristle site. It is a prog rock site.
You are right that the site has a complete catalogue policy, which is also, in the context of a progressive rock site, a bloody silly policy, frankly. Miles Davis is merely the silliest example we have of blatantly non prog albums being included. If this were called Progandothersortsofstuffarchives.com then fair enough, I suppose. It ain't though.
BTW, the suggestion is one of the daftest I have seen, and that is saying something.

If the melody and sound isn't classical or jazz based I won't enjoy it. So everything I like is prog related. I don't like straight styles of music eg funk, hard rock, blues, disco etc but when they are done with jazz and classical based melody and instruments then things become interesting. That's what prog is

Doc: if you are serious about suggesting this guy, then please take a look at some of the (well written and informed) suggestions we have in that part of the forum. That means music in the form of vids or links, like you have provided here, but also bio and thoughts on why you think it deserves a place on here, ie Prog Archives.
Personally I don't hear enough to warrant an inclusion. If we started including this type of jazz, we would end up with Jazz Archives pt 2.
