Why the hell has this place suddenly become overrun with people looking for validation? 'Ohhh I'm so insecure, please tell me I've got great taste in music and then I'll feel like a grown-up progger'

What is wrong with you people? Like the music you like, loathe the music you loathe - just don't go asking for me to tell you that you're great and I like you because you think Moving Pictures is just the bestest album ever in, like, the whole history of ever.

Sad, pathetic nerds.

So how would you rate my rant? Please tell me it's good, pretty please....

I find the rating threads to be quite amusing.  I don't really think it's people looking for validation, I think it's people with too much time on their hands (something I could certainly be accused of as well).

But for attacking people and ranting and raving about how insecure, pathetic and nerdy the people on these boards are, I give this thread a big fat F...that's a 0/10.

there's no humour in ranting, it's stupid and obese, it tells more about the person ranting than about the subject of the rant, yes that means you, and you to, you'r all vile creatures, with no sense of selfworth and are only out there to put others down, and feel important over it.

It was meant as a slightly light-hearted jibe at those who have been cluttering up the forum with inane 'haven't I got a great record collection' threads. Perhaps to provoke a bit of discussion and, yes, I fully expected to get the odd disgruntled post about it. But the above remarks are so rigidly self-righteous they deserve all the opprobium I can heap upon them. Pathetic...

However, I will drop all light-heartedness and firmly say... those who wish their choices to approved of by others are sad. Like what you like. Have the courage of your convictions. For example I happen to like some Neil Diamond and Abba, I need no-one to tell me they're good, bad or indifferent, I just like 'em.

Blimey, do you all have 'rate my great taste' threads lurking here somewhere? It's the only way I can attempt to understand the misery...
