For me in no particular order: I'm With You-Red Hot Chili Peppers Bon Iver-Bon Iver Don't Say We Didn't Warn You-Does It Offend You, Yeah? Suck It and See-Arctic Monkeys 21-Adele I also liked the Rave On Buddy Holly covers album. |

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

I'm surprised at all the Adele love in here, my wife listens to her and she's a good singer but I didn't thinks he had much crossover appeal for prog fans. Show's how much I know!
Anyways, my list is pretty short: Bob Geldof - How to Compose Popular Songs That Will Sell George Lewis - Les Exercises Spirituel I have Helplessness Blues on the way, based on how much I've enjoyed the debut and how much I've liked the songs I've heard off of it, I'm pretty sure it'll make my list as well.

I didn't mention that in my list because it will probably be my nº1 pick for the Collabs Top Album of 2011.

My favorite prog albums that people are citing as not being prog are King Of Limbs and Night Of Hunters.

"Suck it and See" by the Arctic Monkey's to me is a big, big disappointment. I thought their first 3 albums were near enough to perfect. You would be hard to find another band that has brought out a better first 3 albums. They had the opportunity to do a Radiohead and explore something different but they come up with a real stinker in "Suck it and See". I think they have lost me. |
