I consider these 4 bands as the most influential regarding Hard Rock, but they have also a lot of prog elements in their music catalog. Which one?
I look up, I'm almost blinded by the warmth of what's inside me and the taste that's in my soul, but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

This one should be moved to prot/related prog, but, anyway, no vote as I cannot choose between them.

This , but the choice is not hard: Led Zeppelin with Deep Purple as second.

I really like later Deep Purple (Purpendicular and the like), some Led Zep and the first 3 Sabbath albums but Salisbury, Demons and Wizards and The Magician's Birthday are quite immense, so Heep for me.

Deep Purple for me. I'd wish they made some more decent material in the early seventies though.

1. Zeppelin 2. Purple 3. Heep 4. Sabbath The first two were a very close call. Both are very dear to me as they were some of my very first musical discoveries. It's just that Zap has a certain genius that no other rock band managed to capture. A certain purity of sound I can't quite describe.
