Hi,

what's your take on a band that has released an EP in May 2011 under a label Walnut Tree Records, but has just changed their company, are touring a lot with no more than 6-7 songs altogether? I hear they are building up a set to record an album, but don't want to rush it too much, to make it perfect. They also made an accompanied EP in AMrch along with Phantom Theory in 2010

I'm talking about Gunning for Tamar, who I was lucky enough to see performing in a flat room in Berlin on a free day during their German tour. I had a chat with the guys, and they said they're really interested in sending me an original biography once they get back home and then being added into ProgArchives. They also told me I can do what ever I want with their tracks, so I'd happily introduce them to you too.

The band I thought, was heavily influenced by such as Oceansize, and after asking them, they agreed. I don't really know where to put them though, I'd say Oceansize is in psych-prog not really because of their latest records. But if you liked the last 3 ones, you're going to love these guys, although GfT might be a bit heavier at times. I might even recommend these guys to be added to heavy-prog. Well, I guess you know better.

They have a website with videos of two songs from the EP released (the one I'm listening to right now, actually). Or you can stream a few of their songs straight from the internet.

If people agree with me, that they should be added into heavy prog, I'd be happy to enter their bio and tracklist etc.

Via some samples they sound math-y for me (not psych), brilliant stuffs. Cool

Hmm, the two songs that can be streamed on their website are not very conclusive; they sound like slightly mathy indie-rock. I suggest we wait until the album is released, so we can see how this bands stands, in what genre is regarded.

Good stuff, thanks for the links. I hear these guys personally detested math-rock, so it'd be quite funny putting them in the math-rock compartment :D

Bumping this up. I know you're all considering and waiting and stuff, but I thought people'd be interested to know, that the band just signed up for Alcopop! records and at the same time, the band released a new song that can be streamed online

Thought I'd post this here because I don't want to open a thread for a band not yet included.
