 Topic: Favourite Led Zeppelin album?

Anything from Led Zep I - Physical Graffitti I suppose. None of those albums as a whole do much for me, but each has at least one iconic song on it. At a push as it is one I have been enjoying recently Houses of the Holy.

Houses of the Holy is number one for me, followed by Led Zep II, IV, I, and then Physical Graffiti. I pretty much love them all, though.

II is probably my favourite of theirs, followed by I, III and IV.
I am not a fan of the later albums.

III is the only one i really get into still, it has some fun folky tunes and one of my favourite Blues Rock tracks ever

Physical Graffiti. The proggiest, heaviest, most ideas-rich, fullest expression of their sound. If they'd put 'Achilles' Last Stand' on side 4, replacing a couple of the lesser tracks, it would have been perfect.

ther are some fillers on physical, it could have been better as a single album, but all are good from1 to this one, presence is a bit monotonous

The only less-than-essential tracks for me are Boogie With Stu, Night Flight and Black Country Woman. All the rest are pure gold.

Physical Graffiti. And I don't hear any filler. "Black Country Woman" has a great blues mandolin lick, and "Boogie With Stu" features Rolling Stone co-founder and pianist Ian Stewart (that would be "Stu") with that wonderfully warped boogie-woogie on an untuned piano.

You're right, Mr/Ms Dark Elf, there's no filler. Just a couple of tracks I don't see as essential, but still great music.

then why make a thread?-- and the only filler on Phys is 'Boogie With Stu' hmm, best would probably be II or III, but for personal fave I'd say In Through the Out Door or PG

I love the three first albums and after that I've pretty much lost interest in Led Zeppelin. But I'd say that I is the best. If there is one album that describes rock'n'roll perfectly, it's that album.

Remasters?
Actually the side 1 of Led Zep 4
and side 1 of Led Zep 3
would be the best ever Zep album for me
but I cant go past Led Zep 4 for masterpiece only for side 1 if nothing else.

I generally like Led Zeppelin and consider them to be a full-fledged prog band, no matter what others say. "Physical Graffiti" for me, followed by "Third"
