I just noticed this. Somebody care to explain?
In 1976, VDGG released the album "World Record."
That same year, ELO released an album called "A New World Record."
Hmmmmm....

It was clearly a rare outbreak of "Simultaneous Punning". Nowadays we have injections to control it.

These two albums are miles away from each other in every way. Both good though.
Care to explain 'Up' by Peter Gabriel and Shania Twain in the same year?

Okay, different years and one was actually made because they were making a comment on Yes'
s Fragile but

I understand that ELO's music and VDGG's music are extremely different, but still, it's interesting.

I think that ELO thought of calling their album World record, but to late they found that VDGG allready had an album soon coming out with that name and they changed it to A new world record instead. My guess only

Actually BTO did that on purpose in answer to what those timberjacks brutes considered Yes as flimsy music. So fans answered by refferring to BTO as Bachman Turner Overweight (which they were solidly).

I remember in the UK in December 1986, we had three songs in the top 10 which were all called 'The Power Of Love'... by Jennifer Rush, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Hewie Lewis & The News, 2 of which got to number 1.
The only thing the three songs had in common I seem to remember was that they were all crap...
