So hopefully if you were around in the forum about a year ago, you will remember the Ultimate PA Album List made last year. A bunch of you contributed and there seemed to be significant demand to repeat this again and compare the results. So I call on you, browser of this forum, to be a part in this historic annual event!
You may be thinking "How do I do this?"
Well your task is to make a list of anywhere between 50 and 250 of your favorite albums ranked in order. Make your favorite album, prog or not, #1 and list down from there. These can be any album, not just restricted prog albums. This is open to everyone on PA. Of course, I'll give ample time for people to compile and order. The voting will work as such: since the limit is 250 albums per list, the #1 album on your list will receive 250 points, #2 will get 249 and so on and so forth... and point totals will be weighted based on the number of votes that the album receives. You're not required to post 250 albums, just do as many as you like up to 250. Edits are allowed until voting closes, but please, out of courtesy, please indicate edits so i can make the correct changes for my tally. This can be done by bold, underline, italics, asterisks, anything to show what has been edited.
This was a rousing success last year and hopefully we can repeat the success for 2009! So get to listing! Your votes are due by whenever I start posting the insane song list! So there's still time!

PS. The song list will be up within the next 2 weeks I promise. I am finally done with school for the semester and put an end to all of that hard work. Look for that, it's gonna be intence.

So happy listing. If you have any questions, post them in this thread or PM me. May the best album win! Last years results are in a pinned thread in this section so give that a look!
PPS.

YAY, I did not get a chance to get in a list for last years list. I shall begin immediately and hopefully have a list of 250 up in a day or two. Also, can't wait for the song list to be completed, should prove to be very interesting.

Oh and are live albums ok? I imagine so but it never hurts to ask.

Yeah live albums are fine. Looking forward to your list.

Oh and for this year, we already have a good omen in the fact that the first post made the right choice for #1 Wink

Trust me, I tried an albums list with genre restrictions. It was a disaster because people kept arguing about whether or not certain albums fit. This way, any album can be on the list and there's no need to argue over categorization.

On an unrelated note, snippits supporting choices are welcome and will be included again in the top 100 from reviews or if given along with your list.

Ahh I've been working on my song list for quite some time now, I knew we would do this again.

Thankfully I saved my albums list in Word, with some edits I will post soon.

Hard to decide on my personal criteria for what to include and what to base my rankings on. I like folk alot but I'm not going to include any (brilliant) Bob Dylan albums on a PA list. CSN, now, I might have to include them.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Include everything! This is supposed to cross genres to show what everyone is really listening to. The more diverse, the better!
