although it would be almost impossible for these bands to do this:
Genesis (5 man, 4 man -8000$):50, 000$
YES (AWBSH):52,000$
King Crimson (BFW): 35, 000$
ELP: 35, 000$
Steve Hackett: 25, 000$
Rush:30, 000$
Supertramp: 45, 000$
Pink Floyd: 50, 000$
Thats an estimate, these bands who haven't played in a long while, would probably ask more for them to play...

no great genius has existed without a touch of madness...

Last year Sting picked up a cheque for £273,000 for performing just eight songs at a private party thrown by Microsoft boss Bill Gates.

"Lets see... now where did my checkbook go"?? hmmm

Probably a lot more than you relaise to hire these acts, even though they are predominantly 'has beens' in the eyes of most. To give you some idea, flunked Acid Jazz supremos The Brand New Heavies were paid £30,000 to play a small festival in our town, about 4 years ago. Their career was yesterdays news by then. I know the festival organisors so I also know that Jools Holland and his RnB orchestra got £20,000, David Byrne got almost £35,000.

This was for playing in front of a crowd of less than 2000 for about an hour.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Maybe I should just get a couple of members of Floyd.. like Wright and Mason.  As I recall, my mother was a big fan of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma studio side....

"What the hell is that" was a question that came up quite often...

I wonder... even if I paid King Crimson a ton of money to perform at my wedding... do you think he STILL wouldn't give me his autograph?
