That's very true, but the number of people who dislike The Wall are way more numerous than those who dislike TaaB. Just look at the Top 100, and see which is higher - that's often how polls like this turn out (but not always).

Love both of them, TAAB is significantly better though. More varied, more progressive, more original, plus I respect the cohesive composition more than the single tracks.

Five stars > 4.5 stars, but both great.

Do you think is really there a contest? Both are equally great bands, no doubt, but you're comparing Tull's best and Floyd's third or fourth place in their top 5 albums. So, no contest. TAAB.
The best you can is good enough...

Wow. That's a lotta swearing mixed with strong opinions.

I'd like to point out that when I was in 7th or 8th grade I did a 10 minute speech on Thick as a Brick, and proudly proclaimed it was my favourite album of all time at the end. I think you're unfairly generalizing things, andyouandI7thgradeprejudice.

EDIT: Did you have some bad experience in the 7th grade? Or in camp during the 7th grade?

FURTHER EDIT: The thread I was replying to has vanished because of abuse, it seems, so ignore this response.

Right On Febus.  The Wall by miles over TAAB.  Clap

Used to like The Wall a lot and TAAB not so much. Been on sort of a JT marathon lately. Liking TAAB more than I did before. So TAAB it is.

I like both albums a lot but i gave my vote to The Wall because it was the one to get me into Floyd and Prog in general, so remains one of my all time favourites (i think i was in 7th grade(lol). And do you think somebody who talks like andYouandI45 is over 7th grade?

I consider The Wall as the best album ever recorded. So there's no contest for me, even when I love TAAB.

No album beats Thick as a Brick
And frankly, The Wall doesn't even come close

Few albums beat The Wall
And frankly, Thick as a Brick doesn't even come close. Smile

My god, I'll never understand this Tull fixation that affects people...

No album beats Hybris.
And frankly, Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven comes very close.

Well, how do you build a wall? With bricks... But in the end, what's what you're seeing and what you're counting on? The Wall, not the individual brick, no matter how thick it may be...Confused

As inferred from that, The Wall
