There have also been suggestions they will play at Glastonbury this year.

Oh man, if this is true, then I'm a believer in intelligent design...

Love the bit at the end which proves that The Sun was making the quote up:

A music industry insider said: “They had so many hits that I am sure the reunion would be a major success.”

Hits, what hits?
These journalist cant help themselves - in lieu of any real quote they just make one up and use vague terms like "music business insider" or "our man on the inside"

Far be it for me to call Mr Whitaker a liar.

Of course this doesnt make the basis of the story untrue, on the contrary it doesnt surprise me!

The Sun newspaper has the largest circulation in the UK, over 5,000,000 I believe.

If they want loads of money and can get their old bodies to cooperate, they should do it.  No reason not to believe it is true.

Hmm, and it only says they will tour the US.Cry

One thing that struck me is that the headline says "Led Zeppelin to tour again" and later on it says "there is nothing firm yet".

Talking of reunion tours, someone posted this question on Yahoo answers recently -

"Why have the Beatles not reunited?

I'd love to see John, Paul, George and Ringo get together for one more concert. Why don't they? You hardly see any of them these days - what do they all do now?!"

When everyone replied "because two of them are dead" and/or "John Lennon was murdered", they updated their question with this -

"Murdered? When?! Recently?"

I pray to God they were joking, but I'm not sure.

I hope they won't. It's not Led Zep w/out Bonham. I'd see them, but I just don't feel good about it. Their shmoozing for cash.

The Page/Plant project of a few years ago was a great success and at times even an improvement on the early LZ tunes with guest musicians - including Arabic ones - providing a special flavour.
I'd have no reason to doubt that a re-union could work well and re-igniting the inspiration that LZ provided back then. Well, at least to some extent...?

A Led Zeppelin reunion would be fantastic, and Jason Bonham is a more than worthy successor  to his Dad - he is a credit to him.  If they make a few bob out of it then all well and good, i'd love to see them perform back at Earl's Court or Wembley, but i just hope they don't ask us for £250 a ticket !  Confused

That's not Zeppelin style, at least not that I know of. Much more into Plant style for example is to make a charity benefit concert, let's say.

i highly doubt this. every few years these rumors come around, then leave, only to return again in a few years. nothing but wishful thinking...

but i hope i am wrong!

I followed up on this, and I read that it's not true. The information the Sun had was three years old. I'm amazed they published it

LOLDear me - altough to the person that asked the absurd question...LOL

Although the mention of Led Zep at Glastonbury caught my eye. Becuase the guy that runs it, said that there is a 'world-famous group to play' but they aren't saying who it is. I doubt that its Pink Floyd (they had their reunion at Live 8), but Led Zep sounds like a possibility. Bring on the festivals!Big%20smile
