When I hear Close to the Edge or actually a lot of songs like Get 'Em Out By Friday, Song For Jeffrey, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc; I just feel like moving my body (This is not a joke, nor sarcasm). Does anybody else feel that?

That reminds me of the first Fates Warning video I ever saw. They were showing "crowd shots", and watching the fans attempt to headbang to odd time signatures had me on the floor laughing!

When I listen to the long version of "America" by YES then my body revolves. I'm a dancing type of man and I can do it on every interesting music. "Rock" means "dance". There is no difference to Top10 titles. Prog_Rock even has much stronger ryhthmic elements than other music. Is more syncopic.

I do dance to GENESIS tracks ("Afterglow", "Dancing with the moon lit" and others), STEVE HACKETT (several), KING CRIMSON (tracks from "Discipline" and "Beat") and many many other groups.

But if someone wants really to dance like hell I recommend two songs by HUMBLE PIE "Natural born boogie". That song grooves tremendously. And "Roosevelt and Ira Lee" by Tony Joe White. You go nuts - I promise. - But it's not prog.

YES - Close to the edge / UK - UK / GENESIS - The lamb lies down / KING CRIMSON - Discipline / MIKE OLDFIELD - Tubular bells / JETHRO TULL - Aqualung / GENTLE GIANT - Three friends / TMO - IMF

I try to avoid dancing, but I know what you mean. Idioteque by Radiohead must be the best dance song ever!

I find many prog songs suitable for dancing as well. Roundabout, for example, has an amazing rythm and it wouldnt surprise me to see people dancing at it. And indeed Jetrho tull has some songs that might make you move, song for jeffrey is a good example, i'll say, fat man, driving song too. I know one club that sometimes plays Money (PF) and well people in general seem to enjoy dancing it. There are loads of stereotypes and prejudices about wheather some style is danceable or not, and well in my opinion they are crap.

Prog can be danced!!

Yep, that sounds like me. 'Air keyboards' are my speciality

I often tap and drum on nearby objects too.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Rarely, dancing is something I do alone at 3 am.  Yesterday I started to move to The Emperor in his War Room.

I'm into singing out and rocking about. Kind of dancing...

Although I did recently throw a party and come 2:00 or so forced
everyone to danceto Roundabout. It was hard but many obliged me. (and
that came on after our favorite (sarcastic) contemporary hip/hop and pop
tunes)

On the Special Features section of Spock's Beard DVD Don't Try this at Home,
Neil Morse and his kids dance to Tarkus. It's hilarious.

Yeh, my mom does that all the time when she visits my room. Dances like it was the 70's again... it's a bit silly, but hey, she's still got the groove. Ok, I do it too.
