I've bought well over 100 CD's this year.  Probably close to 200 Cd's.  I'd say 99% were prog of one form or another and the other 1% being classic rock.  I've bought approximately 50 or so DVD's this year too.  I just got a player two years ago and am still catching up.

20-35 sounds pretty good- although the last couple of months it seems like there's a new cd in the mail EVERY DAY

Although I quieted down from my youth, I buy roughly 50 albums per year! I do not keep everyone of them , though!

I am ashamed to say so, but I am a selective compulsive prog buyer!!

come on Philippe, I made major discovery mistakes too, in my lenghty record buying career > I was buying stuff just to discover (web and Mp3 did not exist beck then, though) and so mistakes were common. You have to discover things somehow!

I bought over 7000 albums (a good half of it as used records) and I must sold roughly over 5500 of them back. And I still sell a good deal of what I buy, although it is less than 25% of the acquisition.

I buy too many, not only prog, also experimental drum 'n
bass, film music and classical. But I'm a TV editor, and just got
paid about $400 to be a music adviser on a film I edited,
bringing all my own music to it, so that pays for a good amount
of this year's purchases. A good and broad knowledge of music
is a valuable thing!

They are expensive for us peruvians. more if you are unemployed, and there is not too much variety anyways. but i love the feeling of getting a new album, not the same downloading them
