Topic: ANIMALS v RELAYER Posted: November 24 2005 at 06:08 |
Pink Floyd: Animals or Yes: Relayer?
OK another silly poll! Maybe these two aren't really comparable...but
they currently stand right next to each other in the Top 100, they are
both great albums by prog giants, and each contains three epic tracks
of around 20, 10 & 10 minutes length (plus the short acoustic
numbers that bookend the Floyd album).
I have real difficulty picking between them....both of these probably
belong in my Top 10 so its a tough choice....but probably the Floyd
album (just!)

No comparison
Relayer is a classic and Animals is ordinary
Gates is probably the best side long track ever

Relayer, with some reluctance.
I love the track 'Dogs' so much. 'Dogs' is up there in my top 5 prog songs of all time, nothing off Relayer is.
However, Relayer as a whole, though, has more depth and is more challenging/interesting, so just about gets the vote..
..but no way my favourite Yes album!

very close, but animals gets my vote, mostly beacause of dogs, which is one of my alltime-floyd-favourites.

I can't choose. They're both very great albums. I think Animals is the best, and certainly most interesting album Pink Floyd has made. Relayer is one of the most interesting albums Yes has made. I really like the hectic jazz-rock on Relayer, but i think Fragile is slightly better.

Relayer by a mile, I do like Animals, but Relayer is just a brick above Animals.
