Depeche over a-ha, but I'll admit that's the only two I got/have heard of these.

4 stars 1990: Prefab Sprout - Jordan: The Comeback - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPbaYJpK_sw

I thought Prefab Sprout would win this poll easily. Oh well, it's a Life of Surprises here at ProgArchives. Smile

In the U.S., Prefab Sprout was not well known. I had heard of their name, but they didn't get much radio airplay.

Violator. It had much more impact than any of the others, and not just on me... (so, not surprising it leads the poll here).

Violator is a very fine album and will get my vote. I do like the Prefab Sprout too.

I'd never heard of them before Paul's polls. LOL

My favourite Prefab Sprout song from Jordan: The Comeback - although they never really went away. Smile

It's still pretty much the same group of artists who were around in the early 1980's, with the addition of a-Ha. Smile

Yep, especially in Eastern Europe. Here's a more comprehensive list than what's presented for the poll.

On this poll Depeche Mode all the way. Violator is one of the best albums of all time

I don't know any of those 68 albums on RYM's list of international New Wave albums from 1990, and it doesn't even include Depeche Mode's Violator album. Shocked
