This comes to my mind:

I can relate which makes it funny. I have also needed to piss before, but not in Church unless I had imbibed a little too much of the holy spirits.

This one for me:
My big three regarding funny movies are:

1) Some Like it Hot

2) Bringing Up Baby

3) What's up, Doc?

Oh, and let's not forget this one:

You have to understand German to get it though.

Sometimes sense of humour does not translate, because of cultural differences or lingual disparities. For instance the humour here cannot be understood by a person who only knows Turkish. Also, the "joke" cannot be translated to Turkish literally. You've gotta explain it, or make a different joke. See? Pepsi Free (of sugar). "Bedava Pepsi" would come to mean Pepsi Free (can be acquired without payment) or Şekersiz Pepsi (Pepsi without any sugar in it). Free only means without any payment or independent in Turkish. Free (of sugar) can be said as "şekersiz" and it cannot be mingled with the "freedom" concept. Şeker is sugar, and şekersiz means withoout any sugar in it. Here "free of sugar" is a word construction, while in Turkish "sugar" takes a suffix (-siz), so you cannot put the concept "without sugar". Wink

Better Off Dead is one of those rare movies that makes me laugh everytime I see it, and I've watched it several times.  I was hoping to find a montage of all of the "crazy mom" scenes, but this Christmas scene is pretty good.

Another favorite "O Brother Where Art Thou"

Most of the comedy shows I watch are British. I do like those Austin Powers films too (Mike Myers being a Canadian playing a Brit).

I like comedy that often has some psychological aspect to it, or philosophical, is a comedy of embarrassment, some of it can have a horror element, or is just plain absurd. And I like to when it tells a story more so than just a gag. And it's not just the situation or dialogue that tends to "get me, it's the comedy of character (especially characters that I can relate to, and often who are in situations that I can relate with)

This is a favourite scene of mine from The Meaning of Life:

I do tend to appreciate dark comedy, and so I like Harold and Maude a lot:

No video that I can find, and it's typical stupid humour, but the bathroom scene from All Of Me starring Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin. He played it so well. Maybe I should clarify that and say 'at the time'. I haven't watched it in 15 years or more and seeing it for the first time always has more impact. Just as Blazing Saddles did at the time.

I'll join BaldFriede in the shout out to Some Like It Hot.Classic.

Don't mention the war , I did and think I just about got away with it
What do you expect to see out of a Torquay hotel window , the Hanging Gardens Of Babylon? etc
Sybil's birthday episode
(or just about anything from Fawlty Towers)

The Office had some fantastic moments, not least Brent doing one of those motivational lectures and ends up leaving the room with Tina Turners 'Simply The Best' blasting from a tape deck. He then has to come back and explain that its finished to a somewhat bemused group of people.

Health and Safety demo

Brent asking whether he can clear his browsing history

Brent explaining to the Slough office that its good and bad news re the office being closed and merging with the Swindon office ( The 'good news' being that he is getting a promotion)

filmwise you can't beat the pythons

Father while looking at the castle window - ''One day this will be all yours.'' Son - What the curtains?

My name is Brian and so is my wife

School teacher demonstrating to his class 'Sex Education' literally!

YES ! All of it ! The scene where he beats his car with a tree branch. The Germans. The Reno. it just goes on and on. I used to get to see it on late night/early morning TV channels when I was on the road.

Some of the best comedy moments of the last couple of decades came from Peep Show IMO. Love that show to bits.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Fawlty Towers is legendary. I still dig out my DVD box set from time to time, The Office (UK) ditto.

Brent and Fawlty are two of the best and most tragic characters in British comedy.

Currently going through The IT Crowd on Netflix as I've never watched the whole thing before. "Have you tried turning it on and off?". Last night was the episode when Moss posed as Jen's husband and told them all he was a professional tennis player.

Another favourite of mine is Black Books.

Oh, and Man Down with Greg Davies.

"Toni Erdmann" is a brilliant movie and won numerous awards. It was nominated for an Oscar as best foreign movie but lost to "The Salesman" from Iran. The nude scene is absolutely hilarious.
