Topic: 9', Plague, Diamond, Karn Posted: January 04 2015 at 05:21 |
Simple. I saw a lot of polls about great prog epics but none of them contained these songs.
I was especially surprised that there were polls with Tarkus and Echoes, but none with Karn Evil or Shine on! I'd personally pick those two over any of the respective bands' songs
I like Shine on most here, but I think I'll vote for 9', the underdog.

Man, this is killing me. I'll go for VDGG, probably just because I heard Pawn Hearts a couple of days ago, and rediscovered my love for that song

That just about sums it up for me.

KE9 out of these. Nine Feet Underground is a bit too boring for me, they're all good though.

While I like all four epics, my vote went to Caravan's lovely "Nine Feet Underground", which I think is more cohesive in compositional terms - and also on account of Richard Sinclair's gorgeous vocals.

KE9
SOYCD is part of a wonderful album and works best book ending 3 of the greatest Floyd tracks
A Plague is a brilliantly insane prog track and would be my second choice
I don't have any Caravan albums and had to google the track title to find out who the band was

Tough call! All are classics. To me Shine is the top of the heap followed closely by 9', Plague and lastly Karn Evil.

I would have thought Karn Evil would have gotten more votes honestly. It was my favourite epic ever at some point Oh well, maybe someday.

I'll have to go for SOYCD.
Replace KE9 wth Tarkus and that would have won.
Nine feet underground has a nice feel, but overall it's a little bland for my ears, as is most Caravan I've heard, which I admit is not that much.
