Teabreak over Dallas, back on your head - to quote the 5th IF album sleeve.........
BTW ECM is a wonderful label - but beware of that 80's ECM album by a Swiss jazz rock group, using the alpenhorn as lead instrument - I joke not...................... |

I can recommend you to check out David Torn's "Cloud About Mercury" with Bruford on drums and Tony Levin on bass. http://www.ecmrecords.com/Catalogue/ECM/1300/1322.php?sticky label=1 ...and yes, ECM is a great label, always interesting music, and well recorded. |

Eberhard Weber's Pendulum (no off colour humour intended) is well work
a look. It's a rather unique album in that the only instrument on it is
a specially designed bass guitar multitracked to produced a rainbow of
sounds and textures.

We've been here before I think - I'd just like to recommend Tunisian Oud virtuoso Anouar Brahem, who I'll be seeing in a couple of weeks at the Barbican. All his albums are good, but users of this site would probably go for Thimar or Astrakhan Cafe more than any of his others.

Hop, another ECM thread! Does anybody know, do their vinyl releases from late 70's have high prices? I could spend some on PAT METHENY's "Watercolors", KEITH JARRET's improvised live-albums or RALPH TOWNER's "Solo concert". JAN GARBAREK is also nice, I prefer his recent works. |
