My vote goes to Blood on the Rooftops. That's probably my favourite song to play on classical guitar.
|
It's only knock and knowall, but I like it...

My vote goes to Hackett
but deep in my heart I'd say PFM's majestic "Appena un po" (from the album Per un amico).

It´s not like it is my favorite...but it has not been mentioned...and frankly I can´t think right know of a better and more original piece of guitar work ...so I am gonna say
Sailor´s Tales by mr. Fripp...in King Crimson of course...

And it's weird, being spanish, from Andalucia and the hometown of Paco de Lucia, that my favourite piece of flamenco-ish music is this one.
|
I was born in Andalucia, too, my friend, more specifically, Cádiz. I currently reside in Lima since 1986, but I spent the first 18 years of my life in that little Andalusian town.
|
Hey, so the famous (at least in prog fans circles) Cesar Inca has somthing in common with me!. Now I know of three Cadiz (province) born prog lovers: you, me and 'Engel', a guy who released a good Oldfieldish CD a couple of years ago. Sadly, never heard of more!.
|
Hey, I married a lady from Cádiz: does it count?

Out from the songs listed there, a tasty classical sound not mentioned yet (with steel strings guitar) is The Sage from Greg Lake in Pictures of an exibition.
Another little preciousness is Peace a Theme from mr Fripp in The wake of Poseidon.

Of the list I'll go with Hackett Horizon, but I think Classical gas from Jan Akkerman is absolutely amazing !! |
Classical Gas was written by Mason Williams, not Jan Akkerman!
My personal vote goes to Horizon, but al of these songs are absolutely awesome!

Horizons for me....by the way did Gilmour really play the guitar on Is There Anybody Out There ?
I thought that I read that someone else did it.

True! I believe that someone else did it, I think the reason was that the floyd were under imense pressure to get the album out as soon as possible and David just couldnt play this that well so they brought in another guitarist so they could get it down.
Although David is a brilliant guitarist lets never forget that technicaly he isnt.
Voted mood for a day but THE CLAP is better
