If you guys ever heard of Crack the Sky which some of u probally did, i believe what all of u say that they are an Unappreciated band. If u guys ever heard the band B.E. Taylor Joey was in that. I like it I think it is pretty good music though i think that Crack the Sky is better.

Pain of Salvation
The Flower Kings
Gentle Giant
Emerson Lake and Palmer
Yes
Van Der Graaf Generator
Those are all on my top list. I just wanted to let u guys know who i am and what music i like since i am knew to this board. It will be interesting to see peoples opinions in taste and what they think.

Welcome! Enjoy yourself, but don't get caught in the bad crowd!
I don't recommend you associate with the one they call Snow Dog or the one they call Tony R, they'll eat you alive!

thank you and your right the more the merrier. Most Kids in this world have no idea what is good and what is bad for music and movies. They need to know that progressive music can be so unique and so original sometimes and musicians can expand there talent and do so much more stuff and make it sound so good that sometimes its like no other band. Its just not the same with most kids anymore. My dad always went to Genesis concerts and King Crimson and all these prog bands. Now most kids are just seeing bands that have no talent. Even though the population of old music is comming back some of the old bands i see them listening too are not good either because there are a lot of bands back then that were not good. The new bands that are progressive are doing a great job because hopefully it will change and the population of kids will learn what is good and what is not. So your right the more the Merrier.

I agree, the popular music of today just is not the same. People do not really know what "good" music is. Most of my friends do not even know what prog is! I feel like a "music outcast." I am also glad that some knew bands are opening people's eyes up to the world of PROG!

In first place welcome Julian, it's great to have more prog fans here.

Well meurglysIII, it was always the same, Prog fans were always musical outcasts since I heve memory.
I was in school in the late 70's and we were outcasts because everybody was on Disco music, later was Punk, New Wave, Boys or Girls bands, Rap, Hip Hop, etc the ones that had the majority of fans and Progheads were always seen as some kind of weirdos that went against the current.
Probably in the late 60's it was easiest because most rock was in a higher level (except bubble gum pop) or in the early 70's when Prog' was remotely popular, but I was too young and ignorant to notice this (I used to listen The Best of Bread with great bands as Uriah Heep, Grand Funk Railroad or Deep Purple).
So since I was a kid Progheads were seen as people with a strange musical taste.

I am a fairly new member myself, and today some guy totally flipped out on me because I said that ELP was a little overrated, and that there are some artists that are much more original and interesting. I didn't say they were bad or anything, but the guy just flipped. At least, now I know that there are people who are on here that are actually kind to newbies. Thanks.

Of course, I'm just kidding. At heart, they both are two cool people, with moderate knowledge (if it is about Rush, of course).

Actual except for one guy, who has possibly been banned, I've found the people on this board really cool.
Have you ever tried alt.music.yes? Wow. Worse than being in the middle of a G-Rap drive by shooting.
