Let's settle this frequently debated question once and for all - Egg, ELP or EST?

My vote goes to Egg, with EST a close second.

EST is great. A big thank you to Diddy for adding them to my list of quality listening experiences.

EST - heard their latest Viaticum? And check out the DVD of a Stockholm gig by EST issued by ACT about  15 months ago.

My favourite EST is 7 Days of Falling, but Viaticum is definitely growing on me. Nice to know I'm not the only EST fan on the forum.

Well, as a dedicated Canterbury nut I have to go with Egg, though I must own up to not knowing who EST is. Could anyone describe them? If Syz is a fan then I guess I should probably check them out (can't remember reading a post of yours where I haven't wholeheartedly agreed, sir!).

So yep... Egg for me. I'll never forget the day I asked my brother to try clapping along to "Contrasong" (hehehee...)

EST is a Jazz trio from Norway, but like a few other trios (most notably the Necks) they're taking the piano/bass/drums format into plces it never went before - there's a definite rock influence in there as well. Samples can be found on www.est-music.com

Incidentally Trouserpress, I could say the same about your posts (but let's not turn into a mutual appreciation society).

I was going to say keyboard led trio, but there wasn't enough space. It's rare that I encounter anyone more pedantic than myself.
