Allo Botzjungen sounds vaguely obscene, so I voted for that.

Just out of curiosity JrK, how many fish do make a wildebeest?

Maani has to say that tuxon's post was clearly inappropriate, and he should have known that before he posted it...

Peace.

tuxon is forgiven...and then some...because we dearly love tuxon and would not want him to walk around with unnecessary guilt...

Peace.

Actually, that number varies from the limit of a variabel to minus infinity of said variabel, and the limit of said variabel to infinity of said variabel.

It's kinda like zero divided by zero, for you mathematicians in here.

It's not so hard dude. The others understand...

My vote goes to "Allo Botzjungen". Maybe just because someone tends to call me that... and it gets me so HOT. But of course "Verkrijgend de smaak" is a fine answer too. And don't forget "Previously on Gilmore Girls" (love the randomness). "loddkemx"? HOW DARE YOU?!

It's a bit of inspired randomness, it's pretty funny if you 'get' it.

Actually you ahve to get there's nothing to get and the confusion and weirdness IS the humour.

On BBC Radio 4 there is a long running game called 'Mornington Crescent', deceptively simple yet requiring the mind of a Zen master combined with the strategic thinking of chess grand master to play properly. To quote one of the better players 'If you've understood Mornington Crescent, nothing else in your life makes any sense.' (Jeremy Hardy)

This thread reminds me of Mornington Crescent.

And on the Fish/Wildebeest question, to describe the problem in terms of zero divided by zero is just plain confusing. Surely it's zero to the power of  zero?

No, zero divided by zero, meaning, possibly all real and complex numbers. For example:

4 times 0 = 0 zo 0 divided by 0 = 4
a number approaching infinity times 0 = 0  so 0 divided by 0 = a number approaching infinity.

Now, to write this down correctly:

x, as element of C (all complex numbers), times 0 = 0

So 0/0 = x, the element of C, for which you can substitute any complex number.

Did I mention zero, to the power of zero, is ONE!

Which is only partly right

Zero doesn't exist, so why calculate with it. It comes in handy for calculus, but is has no meaning on itself. It's just a mathematical trick.

The zero, the most important invention of all time (except maybe for the wheel and sliced bread)
