Was the controversy that these guys were actually at a Chic concert?

 

or that Keith Emerson (far left) had been left off the guest list and had to buy a ticket to see his favourite band....

Took me a while - Doctored version of the pic was used on the cover of Rainbow's 'Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'

I didn't know that!

The Rush pic was suggested by snapper Fin Costello as the type of thing he could shoot at an upcoming Rainbow gig for inclusion on the album sleeve but record company Polydor rejected that and just re-touched the photo removing the Rush logo and replacing it with the words 'long live rock and roll' -
