Oh..So many great albums here. King Crimson - ITCOCK is great.. but both Zep albums are great too.. The Who - Tommy, The Beatles - Abbey Road, Frank Zappa - Hot Rats all must have albums..
Sorry.. Too hard. Can't vote.

High Tide - Sea Shanties -- This album is the heaviest album of the 60s i think. Tony Hill plays exceptional great guitar! Black Sabbath could shame with their debut.

Recommended!

ITCOTCK. The studio bits of Ummagumma are some of the worst The Floyd ever did. Oh, and I can't really stand The Beatles.

Well the album is primarily a solo effort by each member of the band. The Sysyphus parts being Rick's. Although don't quote me on saying that I know what the other parts belong to. The whole studio bit sounds weak. The Floyd were at their best when they collaborated, not when they decided to each do things on their own. I only listen to that album for the live material.

I'm not to fond of the studio part of Ummagumma either.  It all sounds like bits and pieces of music that if finished could of been great... but doesn't really connect and has no foundation.

Otherwise it just sounds like noodling to me...

FWIW I think the studio part of Ummagumma is the last real "out there" experimentation the guys did, and it's fantastic - if incoherent as an entity simply because the 4 sections are so individual to the band members.

Each part is amazingly diverse, though - you need to let your mind go completely to get the amazing flow that each member achieved...

Think I'll save the rest of my appraisal for a review

I voted for The Court Of The Crimson King, but in my opinion, the best album that came out in 1969 is Chicago's Chicago Transit Authority.

Hi watter High tide are great. What stuff you into as i get fed up with this new prog on here.Real life please.

Im mostly into 70s prog, into more obscure groups from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, South America etc. I dont like neoprog. I like the classic 70s vintage sound with analogue synths and classic sounding electric guitars. From UK groups im more into King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf than in Genesis and Yes. I like dark prog  .
